A short trip to figurative painting

At the beginning of May I was invited by the Gallery ARTENMALA to participate in a extraordinary project: Under the title ANIMALALIA artists of the gallery should paint their favorite animal.
I love cats since I can remember.I like their presence, their independent character, and their love, which they give unconditionally.
Though, I never thought about dedicating myself to cats (or other animals) in my paintings. For me as an abstract working artist this was an exciting challenge, which I loved to meet. And it was fun to express myself figuratively for a change.
