New Reality 3.0

Long before the outbreak of the pandemic, the term ‘New Reality’ was already being used to summarise various social or political development trends. On a theoretical level, people warned of potential dangers. Some even predicted the end of the world.

Today (October 2024), the pandemic, two wars and the increasingly evident climate change have created a world that could not have been imagined just a few years ago.

In my artistic exploration, I work on the themes of this ‘new reality’ and ask myself what it does to those directly affected and, as a result, to all of us.

My paintings tell stories. To do this, I sometimes use a formal language that is remotely reminiscent of comics.

I work with acrylic on canvas. Since August 2023, I have been using collage (transfer technique) in small sections of my paintings, but only for paintings on the subject of war.
